Capri Boat Tour: Departure 9:00 am - Return 5:00 pm
The island of Capri, one of the most glamorous seaside destinations in the Mediterranean.
Over the years, entire generations of literary icons, great artists, and Hollywood celebrities have succumbed to its charm. Want some names? From Jackie Kennedy to Brigitte Bardot in the 60s and 70s up to, more recently, Mariah Carey, Richard Gere, Beyoncé, and Irina Shayk. If you plan to treat yourself to a private tour of Capri with our beautiful 370 hp Sorrentine Gozzo, here’s a small selection of the best places to see:
The spectacle of the Faraglioni, the intoxicating scents of the surrounding Mediterranean scrub, the natural arch perfectly visible from the sea, Curzio Malaparte’s villa—an architectural masterpiece facing the sea, perfectly integrated into the landscape, originally conceived by Le Corbusier, a beautiful example of rationalist architecture: the villa is private. T
Between the Faraglioni and Marina Piccola, you can admire Via Krupp (“the most beautiful road in the world,” built by the German steel king in 1902), through which you can descend to the Gardens of Augustus, a botanical garden with a sea view, to reach Marina Piccola with its rocky beach and turquoise sea.
After Marina Piccola, you can stop for a swim in the bay of Cala Ventroso beach, a beach characterized by a small strip of rocks surrounded by rugged cliffs at the foot of Mount Solaro, bathed by a brilliant, crystalline, and transparent turquoise sea. The beach is accessible only by sea and can be enjoyed practically only by boat.
The Punta Carena Lighthouse stands at the southwestern tip of the island of Capri, on the peninsula of Limmo, a name derived from the Latin limen and meaning border. Beyond it, there is only sea extending all the way to Sicily. Behind it rises the cliff of La Migliera traversed by defensive walls built by the British at the beginning of the 19th century to protect Capri.
The lighthouse, built in 1866, is among the most important in the Tyrrhenian Sea and the second in Italy by light range after that of Genoa. At Punta Carena, the seabed declines very rapidly: just 500 meters from the coast, it reaches a depth of about 600 meters.
Finally, the Blue Grotto is truly a surprising blue. The blue coloration of the grotto is given by sunlight entering through an underwater window that opens exactly below the entrance arch, thereby undergoing filtration by the water, which absorbs red light and allows blue light to pass through. A second phenomenon determines the silvery reflections of submerged objects: air bubbles adhering to the outer surface of objects, having a refractive index different from that of water, allow light to exit.
The grotto is a cultural heritage site and is accessed via designated rowing boats due to the size of the entrance opening. The cost is borne individually at your expense, children have reductions, and if the sea is rough, the grotto might be closed.
Normally, after 3 PM, visits to the grotto are suspended because the sea tends to get rough.
